/Home › › Lake Balboa I first visited Lake Balboa in the spring of 2001, when I went fishing there with a colleague. This time, I returned on a drive with my wife, making it a place filled with fond memories for me. I still vividly remember being astonished by the enormous pinecones—nearly the size of a person’s face. Lake Balboa, located in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, is a spacious park known for its calm, refreshing natural atmosphere that offers a welcome escape from the city’s bustle. At its center lies a large man‑made lake, surrounded by cherry blossoms in spring, attracting many visitors who come to stroll, relax, or enjoy a picnic. The park also offers a variety of activities, including boating and cycling, making it a popular destination for families. With its wide lawns and abundant trees, it provides a rare sense of tranquility while still being within Los Angeles. It remains one of the places I hope to visit again someday. Taken with ...
