10th April 2008: Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas

Image
Whenever I visited Las Vegas, I always made sure to stop by Red Rock Canyon. The first time I went there, I was truly surprised to find such a canyon so close to the city. I still vividly remember how extremely hot it was. Located approximately 30 minutes by car from Las Vegas, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is renowned for its breathtaking scenery shaped by striking red sandstone formations. Attracting over two million visitors annually, it has become one of the most popular natural destinations in the region. A 21-kilometer one-way scenic drive offers travelers the chance to admire dramatic landscapes from the comfort of their vehicle—including the vibrant contrast of red and white rocks at Calico Hills and sweeping views from the High Point Overlook. The area features a wide range of hiking trails, accommodating everyone from beginners to experienced trekkers, with spring and autumn offering the most pleasant conditions. When I was living in California, there was squirrels that used to visit our home frequently. After I gave it some peanuts, they started coming by every day. Sometimes she would stand boldly on the lawn, other times he would peek from the fence, and occasionally, she would rest on a tree branch while waiting for her peanuts. their behavior was absolutely adorable. I hope I can meet them again someday. Nikon D40x / AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm F4.0-5.6G ED / 1/4000s / F5.6 / ISO 400 / 0.0 Nikon D40x / AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm F4.0-5.6G ED / 1/250s / F4.8 / ISO 200 / 0.0 Nikon D40x / AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm F4.0-5.6G ED / 1/1000s / F5.6 / ISO 200 / 0.0 Nikon D40x / AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm F4.0-5.6G ED / 1/125s / F5.6 / ISO 400 / 0.0 Participating in the ranking If you think the content is good, please click and follow. 気に入っていただけましたら応援よろしくお願い致します。 にほんブログ村 にほんブログ村

10th Mar 2008: Lake Balboa Park in Los Angeles CA

Image
Located in the Sepulveda Basin of the San Fernando Valley, just outside Los Angeles, Lake Balboa—officially known as Anthony C. Beilenson Park—is a vast urban park spanning approximately 80 acres (32 hectares). At its heart lies a 27-acre (11-hectare) lake where visitors can enjoy swan boats, pedal boats, and fishing.  The park also features a 1.3-mile walking path, jogging and cycling trails, barbecue pits, picnic areas, and a universally accessible playground. In spring, the Japanese Garden, adorned with cherry blossoms, waterfalls, and streams, becomes a particularly popular attraction and is often described by local blogs as a “hidden gem.”  Under the brilliant blue California sky, the cherry blossoms create a striking contrast, offering a unique visual experience unlike those in Japan. For photography, I used a CPL filter, which deepened the blue of the sky and enhanced the overall vibrancy of the scene. Taken with Nikon F5 / AF-S Zoom 28-70mm F2.8D ED-IF / Kodak Professi...
