4th May 2014: Heisei Tsutsuji (Azalea) Park in Nerima Tokyo

Image
Located just a one-minute walk from the north exit of Nerima Station, Heisei Tsutsuji Park is a beautiful garden themed around the azalea, the official flower of Nerima Ward. Covering approximately 8,600 square meters, the park boasts an impressive collection of 600 varieties and 16,000 azalea plants, making it one of the largest of its kind in Tokyo.  In spring, Kurume, Hirado, and Kirishima azaleas bloom in succession, with the peak viewing season spanning from mid-April to mid-May. The park is well-equipped with benches, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy the vibrant floral scenery. It’s an ideal spot for photography and leisurely strolls, especially during the spring bloom.  I fondly remember a moment when my daughter, still in her stroller, saw the azaleas and raised her feet in delight as if cheering. It’s a cherished memory that brings a smile every time I see it. Olympus OM-D E-M1 / ED 14-54mm F2.8-3.5 II / F3.2 / 1/1000sec / ISO100 / +0.3 Olympus OM-D E-M1 / ED 14-...

23rd Nov 2013: The ginkgo-lined avenue of Meiji Jingu Gaien

Image
The ginkgo-lined avenue of Meiji Jingu Gaien is one of Tokyo’s most iconic autumn landscapes. Located in Kita-Aoyama, Minato Ward, the avenue stretches approximately 300 meters toward the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery, flanked by four orderly rows of ginkgo trees - 146 in total. Selected as the official tree of Tokyo, the ginkgo holds a distinguished presence as a street tree, admired for its graceful form and resilience. Each year, from mid-November to early December, the leaves turn a brilliant golden hue, transforming the avenue into a breathtaking scene reminiscent of a painting. iPhone 4S / 5 Participating in the ranking If you think the content is good, please click and follow. 気に入っていただけましたら応援よろしくお願い致します。 にほんブログ村 にほんブログ村

23rd Aug 2013: Filled with unforgettable memories

Image
I was granted permission to be present at the birth and even allowed to take photographs, so I was fully prepared and eagerly awaiting the moment. However, our daughter was reluctant to come out, and an emergency C-section became necessary. Naturally, I was no longer allowed to be in the delivery room and had to wait in a separate area. After about an hour, a nurse handed me a small slip of paper and said warmly, “Congratulations. Both mother and baby are doing well.” I had hoped to capture the emotional moment of birth with my camera, but instead, I photographed that piece of paper.  Olympus E-5 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / 1/20s / F2.4 / ISO400 / + 0.3 Later, I was finally able to hold my daughter in my arms—and for the first time, I truly felt what it meant to become a parent. 30th Apr - 4th May 2013: Nakijin Okinawa

Image
Before our daughter was born, my wife and I visited Nakijin in Okinawa. We spent the first few nights at a hotel, then moved to a familiar inn we had grown fond of over the years.  The ocean in Okinawa was breathtaking - crystal-clear and endless, much like the waters of Hawaii.    Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO100 / f2.6 / 1/2500s / 0.0 Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO100 / f2.8 / 1/1600s / +0.7 Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO200 / f2.8 / 1/4000s / +0.3 Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO100 / f3.0 / 1/1600s / 0.0 Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO200 / f2.8 / 1/1600s / 0.0 Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO200 / f3.5 / 1/3200s / 0.0 Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO200 / f4 / 1/2500s / 0.0 Olympus E620 / Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm F2,0 SWD / ISO200 / f5 / 1/1000s / +0.3 Olympus E620 / Z...

23rd Mar 2013: Cherry Blossom Tunnel in Aoyama Cemetery Tokyo

Image
The cherry blossoms at Aoyama Cemetery are an exceptionally captivating subject from a photographic perspective. One of the most striking features is the "cherry blossom tunnel" that stretches along the central pathway of the cemetery.  During peak bloom, the branches of the Somei Yoshino trees arch gracefully from both sides, creating a dreamlike scene that feels as though one is walking beneath a canopy of blossoms. This tunnel is ideal for wide-angle photography, allowing for compositions that emphasize both depth and the density of the flowers. The serene atmosphere, inherent to the cemetery setting, lends a unique and contemplative beauty that sets it apart from other cherry blossom viewing spots. When photographed in monochrome or soft tones, the resulting images often carry a deeply poetic quality. Despite its location in the heart of Tokyo, Aoyama Cemetery offers a tranquil environment where photographers can take their time to carefully compose each shot while engagi...
