6th April 2026: Seibuen Amusement Park in Tokorozawa Saitama

Seibuen Amusement Park is a historic amusement park located in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture. It first opened in 1950 and has been cherished by many families for generations.

In 2021, the park underwent a major renovation, and its distinctive atmosphere now centers on the “Sunset Hill Shopping Street,” which recreates Japan of the 1950s. The park features a nostalgic and warmly comforting world filled with charm. Visitors can enjoy performances that vividly recreate the streetscape and human connections of that era, and through shopping and dining, they can fully experience the atmosphere of the Showa period.

The park offers a wide variety of attractions, ranging from powerful and immersive experiences such as Godzilla the Ride to gentle rides that even young children can enjoy safely. More than simply an amusement park, Seibuen Amusement Park continues to attract many visitors as an “experiential theme park” where people of different generations can share lasting memories together.

I was born in the 1940s, and the streets of the Sunset Hill Shopping Street felt deeply nostalgic to me. As I walked through the area, I found myself thinking, “Yes, this is what the Showa era was like,” and was filled with fond memories. On the other hand, my daughter, who was born in the 2010s, also found the streetscape fascinating and watched performances such as the “Boogie Woogie Dance” with great excitement.

Currently, attractions featuring Godzilla and Ultraman are being held at the park; however, our family was unfortunately unable to see the Ultraman attraction due to scheduling conflicts. Next time, I would very much like to experience the Ultraman attraction first of all.

Surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom, we were able to spend a joyful and memorable time together as a family.
