Colors of My Heart

The ginkgo-lined avenue of Meiji Jingu Gaien is one of Tokyo’s most iconic autumn landscapes. Located in Kita-Aoyama, Minato Ward, the avenue stretches approximately 300 meters toward the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery, flanked by four orderly rows of ginkgo trees - 146 in total. Selected as the official tree of Tokyo, the ginkgo holds a distinguished presence as a street tree, admired for its graceful form and resilience. I was granted permission to be present at the birth and even allowed to take photographs, so I was fully prepared and eagerly awaiting the moment. However, our daughter was reluctant to come out, and an emergency C-section became necessary. Naturally, I was no longer allowed to be in the delivery room and had to wait in a separate area. After about an hour, a nurse handed me a small slip of paper and said warmly, “Congratulations. Before our daughter was born, my wife and I visited Nakijin in Okinawa. The cherry blossoms at Aoyama Cemetery are an exceptionally captivating subject from a photographic perspective. One of the most striking features is the "cherry blossom tunnel" that stretches along the central pathway of the cemetery.  During peak bloom, the branches of the Somei Yoshino trees arch gracefully from both sides, creating a dreamlike scene that feels as though one is walking beneath a canopy of blossoms. Sunset with the Peugeot 205 CTi in Enoshima, Shonan After three long years of infertility treatment, filled with emotional and financial uncertainty, my wife and I shed countless tears together, unsure of what the future would hold. This photo was taken in a parking lot in Enoshima, right after we received a prenatal diagnosis at a nearby hospital. On that day, the doctor told us, “There are no problems.” For the first time, we were able to feel pure joy from the depths of our hearts. With tears of happiness streaming down our faces, we captured this breathtaking sunset alongside my wife’s beloved car, the Peugeot 205 CTi. In the Japanese Garden of Showa Memorial Park, the vivid colors of maple and other autumn leaves begin to deepen in late autumn, creating a serene and elegant seasonal atmosphere.  The surface of the pond reflects the vibrant foliage, unfolding a dreamlike scene reminiscent of a painting.  As you stroll along the garden paths, trees dressed in shades of red, orange, and yellow form a canopy overhead, while fallen leaves beautifully carpet the ground beneath your feet. Especially at dusk, the soft light gently illuminates the leaves, making it an ideal time for photography. It is a perfect place to escape the bustle of the city and quietly embrace the essence of autumn.  When I visited, the foliage was already nearing its end, but I was fortunate to capture leaves glowing in the sunlight.
