The Christ the Saviour Church
During the Second World War, the neighboring St Saviour’s Church was destroyed in an air raid, and in 1951 the two parishes were united under the present name.
The interior was enriched in the early twentieth century by G. F. Bodley, creating a space where grandeur and warmth coexist harmoniously. Since the era when Ealing flourished as the “Queen of the Suburbs,” the church has served as a central presence in the community, and it continues to host daily worship and a wide range of local activities. My daughter also frequently visited the church for school events.
Surrounded by greenery and marked by its dignified exterior, the church still offers a quiet and enduring charm to all who visit.
The Christ the Saviour Church, located in the heart of Ealing, is a historic Church of England parish church completed in 1852. It is widely regarded as a notable example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture. Designed by the renowned architect Sir George Gilbert Scott—famous for works such as the St Pancras Hotel—the church is distinguished by its tall spire, intricate stonework, and elegantly elongated windows.
